Standup 06/22/2009: RubyMine Tweaking

Joe Moore

Interesting Things

  • RubyMine 1.1 + Latest Mac OS X Java Upgrade + configuring RubyMine to work with Java 1.6 = Complex FAIL. We downgraded to RubyMine 1.0.5 and it works again.

  1. Davis W. Frank says:

Actually, the fix is to edit RubyMine’s info.plist and move Java back down to 1.5* (if you’ve set it to 1.6*).

We changed to 1.6 b/c the garbage collection seemed to stall RubyMine waaaay too often.

It seems that RubyMine 1.1 + OS X Java Upgrade provides var fewer beachballs of tranquility. So overall, things are fine.
