This Saturday, January 28th, Xtreme Labs will open its doors to host the Ladies Learning Code Mobile workshop. This sold-out event is a full-day workshop where some of the best developers from the Toronto tech community come together to mentor women interested in advancing their knowledge of how to code.
“I love when the office is buzzing with activity. This is an awesome opportunity for us to be a part of. I love that we’re supporting the heroes that are changing the tech scene in Toronto,” said Amar Varma, co-founder of Xtreme Labs about hosting Ladies Learning Code at the XL office.
For this particular workshop, Rebecca Putinski and Kitty Shum, engineer and product manager from Xtreme Labs respectively, will be teaching the Ladies how to convert complicated websites to be mobile optimized using HTML5 and CSS, using Xtreme Labs’ unique paired-programming method.
Xtreme Labs’ very own Breanna Hughes is an integral part of the Ladies Learning Code team that conceptualizes, plans and implements the workshops. These hugely successful and widely popular workshop series appeal to female members of the Toronto community, all from a variety of different backgrounds and professions. Ladies Learning Code has already held five previous events, all of which have been completely sold out. Every workshop focuses on a different variety of programming languages and technical tools to provide attendees with a broad experience working with code. There are even plans to host a Girls Learning Code March Break Camp in Toronto for younger, aspiring coders. You have to be ages 11 to 14 to register for the camp. Xtreme Labs will also provide sponsorship for this exciting opportunity.
Xtreme Labs is proud to sponsor this upcoming Ladies Learning Code workshop. As always Xtreme Labs continue to support those inspired to learn more about technology and will continue to foster those curiosities with whatever resources it can provide where possible.
